The Bold Venturers

This book puts the focus on a relatively small (38) yet remarkable group of men and women of all ages, backgrounds and interests who are an inspiration to others, particularly to younger generations of ‘would be’ entrepreneurs. The contribution these entrepreneurs make to the success of the UK should never be taken for granted, commented John Hutton MP, (then) the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform in a special foreword in the book. The book is a collaborative project between Cities500 International Publishers and the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA). It also has the support of Liverpool John Moores University and the North West Business Leadership Team. Those profiled in The Bold Venturers either work and live in the region, or originate from it; and many enjoy national and global reputations. And the book winds up with a special tribute to the late Mancheter broadcaster and entrepreneur Anthony H Wilson written by Angie Sammons, Editor of the on-line magazine Liverpool Confidential, who argues that he was one of the North West’s most inspirational entrepreneurs, raconteurs, wits and all round ‘good blokes’.
